New models of registration certificate & permanent resident certificate for EU citizens

Introduction

Order No. 1334-D/2010, of December 31, approved the models for the registration certificate of European Union citizen and the permanent residence certificate of European Union citizens.

Regulation (EU) 2019/1157 of the European Parliament and of the Council, of June 20, 2019, adopted new models for the above-mentioned documents, with the aim of strengthening the security of EU citizens' identity cards and residence permits and contributing to preventing and combating document fraud.

Order No. 13/2024, of January 22, replaces the models in force since 2010 and regulates the fees to be charged for these administrative procedures.

Processing fees

The following fees are due for the issuance of each registration certificate for EU citizens, permanent residence certificate and residence card for family members of EU citizens:

* with hand delivery made on the same working day as the application

• Registration Certificate of EU Citizens

• Permanent Residence Certificate for EU citizens

Effectiveness

The new models come into force 30 days after the date of its publication in the Official Journal (Diário da República).
