
Update: Expression of Interest
Law No. 40/2024, effective November 8, 2024, clarifies residence permit rules in Portugal for individuals affected by the cancellation of the Expression of Interest mechanism. It allows those foreigner citizens residing in Portugal before June 4, 2024, who did not submit an expression of interest, to maintain their legal status if they meet criteria such as being registered with social security and contributing for at least 12 months.

Visas and permits valid until June 30, 2025
Decree-Law No. 41-A/2024, of June 28, amended the Decree-Law No. 10-A/2020, of March 13, extending the validity of all documents and visas relating to residence in Portugal until June 30, 2025.

You Have a Future in Portugal - Program Measures for Youth
The program approved by the Government consists of a set of measures aimed at youth, ranging from health to buying a house. In total, 14 new measures were approved with the aim of encouraging young people to “build their life project in Portugal”. The program is available for people up to 35 years old.
