The Portuguese Council of Ministers approved today the Migration Action Plan which is based on 4 pillars: institutional reorganization, functional humanistic integration, attraction of foreign talent and regulated immigration.

New measures for electronic declarations of births in Portugal
New measures for electronic declarations of births in Portugal and abroad were approved. Parents can now electronically declare births that took place less than a year ago in Portuguese territory, in a public or private health unit, or abroad, concerning the child of a Portuguese parent.

Changes to the Portuguese Nationality Act Published in the Official Journal (Diário da República)
The tenth amendment to the Portuguese Nationality Law was officially published in the Official Gazette today! These changes include lighter residency requirements for nationality applications submitted by foreign residents and a slight alteration to the requirements for granting nationality to descendants of Portuguese Sephardic Jews.
